Since the first ABTECH sheet steel enclosure was manufactured in the 1970’s, the company has never lost sight of its goal to become a leading supplier of quality electrical enclosures and junction boxes, suitable for both the industrial and hazardous area markets. In recent years, ABTECH has extended our range of enclosures to cope with ever-increasing customer demands for unique solutions to their problems. These solutions include high voltage connection boxes (up to 35kV / 3000 Amps), high temperature junction boxes (up to 950ºC for 3 hours) and IP68 enclosures (up to 120ft depth). ABTECH welcomed the challenge when the Channel Tunnel was being constructed, and produced over 12,500 junction boxes and emergency lighting actuators to the most exacting standards. With emphasis on reliability and safety, ABTECH designed a solution that far exceeded the rigorous specifications laid down by Eurotunnel. Enclosures are manufactured in a broad range of materials, including stainless steel, mild steel, glass reinforced polyester (GRP), aluminum, polycarbonate and ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene), which are suitable for a wide variety of industrial and OEM applications. ABTECH has the facilities to modify standard enclosures to meet specific customer requirements. These services include machining, painting, silkscreen printing and electro-polishing, to name a few. Also, where required, ABTECH can mold any of the plastic range of enclosures in a wide range of colors (subject to minimum order quantity).

The ABTECH hazardous area range of enclosures includes junction boxes and terminal connection enclosures, and can be manufactured in stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum and GRP. Industrial and hazardous area enclosures are suitable for use in both Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas and are certified to the latest ATEX standards. ABTECH also manufactures restricted breathing enclosures (EEx nR), which are capable of housing sparking and hot components and are also suitable for use in Zone 2 areas – making these enclosures a cost-effective alternative to flameproof enclosures (EEx d).
