The ZAG range of industrial enclosures includes 19 sizes that are precision die cast in Al Si 12 grade (LM24) aluminum alloy. This is considered to be the most suitable grade of aluminum for maximum corrosion resistance, especially in salt-laden, corrosive atmospheres. Additional optional protection methods such as Alochrome, anodizing and epoxy polyester painting, coupled with the installation of captive, 316 grade stainless steel, lid retaining screws further enhance the anticorrosion properties of the ZAG industrial enclosures. The wall thickness is sufficient to allow tapped entry holes to be machined in the walls or the base of the ZAG range of industrial enclosures.

Due to the ZAG enclosure's labyrinth seal system (which is similar to that of the BPG range, where the seal is protected from external forces), the ZAG industrial enclosure has excellent ingress protection qualities, which means that the enclosure is tested to and passed IP66/67. The mounting holes, although contained within the profile of the ZAG industrial enclosure, sit outside the seal. All external fasteners and hardware are manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel to ensure reliability. External stainless steel mounting feet are also available as an option.

The ZAG range of industrial enclosures have many features for use in a wide range of applications, including junction boxes in both industrial and hazardous areas, and especially OEM applications, where the excellent machining qualities of aluminum are a clear advantage. The ZAG range of industrial enclosures can be machined, drilled, tapped with various thread forms, and readily accepts most paint finishes and colors. The ZAG range is particularly suitable for engraving of instructions and decals, and provides excellent durability. Silkscreen printing is also available. All of these options can be achieved, even in relatively small batches. This makes the ZAG range ideal for small to medium size manufacturers who require an economical custom enclosure.

Grounding can be accomplished by various means, such as an external/internal stainless steel earth stud, which in turn can be connected to the terminal mounting rail or component mounting plate, various rail mounted earth terminals, or proprietary grounding bars can be fitted inside the ZAG industrial enclosure. Due to the fact that aluminum is an excellent conductor, grounding for cable glands is provided through contact with the ZAG industrial enclosure wall - no additional grounding is necessary. When fitted with a standard neoprene gasket, the ZAG range of industrial enclosures is suitable for ambient temperatures of -40°C to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F). Alternatively, when fitted with an optional silicone gasket, the temperature range increases to -70°C to 130°C (-94°F to 226°F). RFI screening is easily achieved using ZAG industrial enclosures.
