Disaster Warning

The A140 disaster warning alarm sounder is a compact high powered unit with an effective range of approx. 1km. Applications are diverse, from large industrial, agricultural or forestry sites, quarries and others where there is a very high ambient noise level or warnings have to be audible over large distances.

A140 Installation and positioning considerations.

In general the sounders should be mounted horizontally 10 to 15 meters above the ground, with due consideration for their location; generally the highest point on the site to be covered, although not so high so as to avoid the sound traveling over the top of the area.

A general guide: determine the height of any obstruction within 50 metres and keep the sounder at least 2 meters higher than this for the best sound coverage - ideally the source to target should be aimed at or in 'line of sight'.
